Use of wetsuits depends on water temperature :

  • Less than 20°C →  Obligatory use of wetsuit
  • Between 20°C—24°C → Optional use of wetsuit
  • More than 24°C →  use of wetsuit is strictly prohibited !!

                        Neoprene wetsuits are NOT recommended when Water Temperature is  more than 22°C

  • Participants under the age of 18 must provide a parent or guardian’s consent at the check-in desk. (Swimmers under the age of 18 WILL NOT be allowed to participate without signed authorization)
  • Individual Medical Certificate (attesting the participant’s physical capacity to take part in an open water swimming competition) MUST be attached in the registration process

The first 10 male classified and first 10 female classified in each category for both OCEANMAN & HALF OCEANMAN from each of the competitions held before the FINAL event will be offered a place for the World Championship.

 

To consider participating in the Oceanman World Championship, it is only necessary to classify in ONE of the qualifying races. In NO CASE is it necessary to participate in all of the competitions of the Oceanman circuit.

ORGANISATION, SECURITY, HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Lifeguard / rescue in the water
  • Medical Service
  • Send your medical certification to: oceanmanswiss@gmail.com
  • Aid stations: Food points in the water for both the Oceanman, Half Oceanman (liquid and solid).
  • Recovery area with food point for swimmers after competition.
  • Individual Medical certificate (attesting physical capacity to take part in open water swimming competition) must be attached in the registration process. Mandatory for each participant.
  • Participants under 18 year of age must provide parent or guardian’s consent at bid number collection counter. No swimmer under 18 can participate without signed authorization.
  • Civil insurance by the organizer
  • Speaker (French & English)
  • Technical Briefing (place and time to be confirmed)
  • Welcome Package (bag to store clothes & personal effects, electronic timekeeping, swimming hat, number, buoy, T-shirt and Swiss present)
  • Transport to the starting point for Oceanman swimmers, and transport of their bags back to Bellerive Plage for arrival.
  • Safekeeping of personal effects bags for all participants at Bellerive plage.
  • Changing room and showers
  • Finisher Medal for all swimmers
    • Trophy Awards for Oceanman & Half Oceanman(1st,2nd & 3rd place for all categories
    • Trophy Awards for SPRINT (1st, 2nd & 3rd place overall)
